As you know, the Exact Listening experience does not end with the class. The exercise must be practiced on a regular basis to keep one's ability sharp. This section of the site is here to give general information and support to graduates. To encourage graduates to continue practicing, graduates may repeat the class free of charge as often as they like (space permitting). When you take the class, your Trainer will submit a Registration Form to the Exact Listening Trainers Association. You will then receive a "Graduation Letter" acknowledging you as a graduate of the course.
Keep this letter in a safe place. This is your "ticket" to subsequent trainings. To repeat the class for free, just show it to the Trainer before the class. You only show the Graduation Letter to the Trainer. You keep it to show each time you repeat the class.Note that the letter is not transferable. It may be used only by the Registered Graduate whose name appears on it.
===============In the near future, we plan to post the names and contact information of graduates who would like to meet other graduates to practice. If you would like to be listed, send an email to gradlist@exactlisting.org.
Specify your name, your zip code (country and postal code if outside the U.S.), plus a telephone number, an email address, or both. Please do not list a fax number. Voice, answering service, and pager numbers are all okay.
In the meantime, if you are looking for people to work with, start with people in your class or contact your Trainer(s). They may know graduates near you from their other courses, or they may wish to get in some practice themselves, since they don't get to do much, if any, in the classes they supervise.

Generally, we ask that graduates work only with their fellow graduates (or others who have thoroughly studied the manual and CD) until such time that they are certified as Trainers. There is one exception to this. We strongly encourage parents to regularly guide their children through the exercise, for reasons outlined in Why Exact Listening? and Exact Listening for Kids.
To inspire children to apply themselves to the exercise, the Association issues Achievement Awards, also described in the Exact Listening for Kids section. Any Registered Graduate of the course may recommend someone for an Achievement Award.

Please keep us informed of your current address, telephone numbers, email, etc. To record any changes since your Trainer submitted the Graduation Form, just send an email to addresschange@exactlistening.org.

Exact Listening News (Updated October 2002) - This newsletter, in PDF format, keeps graduates and trainers up to date on the Association's activities and may be used as a forum for graduates and trainers to share their exerperiences with the Exact Listening and Conscious Communication exercises.

Finally, at http://www.exactlistening.org/words, you will find many pages of sentences and other strings of words that graduates can use when practicing the exercise outside of class. After about 15 words, the exercise slows down considerably while the guide searches the newspaper or magazine for appropriate material and counts the words. You'll still need to have a newspaper or magazine handy for strings of 1-15 words, but these pre-counted strings of more than 15 words will help things along when you get to that stage.
