Recommending a Graduate for Certification as a Trainer
For a graduate to become a Certified Exact Listening Trainer, he/she must be recommended by a current member of the Exact Listening Trainers Association. This is done via the Certification Form, which may be accessed through the link at the bottom of this page. Send the form to the Association to reccommend a graduate for certification. Part of the form is completed by the Trainer, part by the graduate applying for Trainer status and membership in the Association. When the certification form is received and approved, the new Trainer is mailed his/her certificate.Only Registered Graduates may become Trainers. Do not submit the certification form unless the individual is a graduate of the course.
Recommending someone for certification means you attest that this graduate has demonstrated proficiency in the exercise as both guide and student to the point that you feel he/she is fully capable of teaching people who have had no previous exposure to Exact Listening how to guide. Please do not recommend anyone who is not fully capable. Since all graduates may repeat the class free of charge, asking a graduate to repeat the class any number of times to demonstrate proficiency should not be a problem.
The applicant should read the Association Policies prior to submitting the form, since submitting the signed form indicates agreement with the policies. The Policies are located at http://www.exactlistening.org/trainers/policies.htm.
Certification Fee and Dues
A one-time Certification Fee of $20 must accompany the form. Payment must be by check or money order payble to "ELTA" in U.S. funds from a bank with a U.S. collection address.
[Note: After this initial submission, dues are paid yearly to continue membership and Certified Trainer status for the following year. When membership is renewed, a new certificate with a new expiration date is issued. See Renewing Your Membership for details.]
